oil pastely practice

photograph as reference - was very overexposed & odd.. i think i made it odder :hmm: & added a bit of cranium damage by the looks of it.. perhaps she's like that 'Star Child' with the odd skull.. or had her skull shaped oddly as a baby - did you know you can shape baby's skulls permanently by binding it with material or blocks of wood? i saw it on tv :paranoid:

I think it really good, especially her hair, you are being too critical of your own work maybe, the shape of her head appears to me,to be just the nomal perspective theat you would see when you are up close to a person so it dosen't look strange to me at all! She has a bit of a strange expression but don't we all sometimes. :) Very good work!!!

You can judge a man's character by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

:D thinks its fab. mm i like her greeness. and dammit you get "her" *wink* eyes just right, its incredible how you do that. its so obviously "her"
i like the odd expression it makes it more artsy then just a smile or something. very "her" hmmm im so subtle right now....
thats freaky! how can people shape babies heads and think its cool? hmmmm
very strange...kidnve like the whole eastern feet binding thing??

 always the subtle one

the baby head shaping thing was for a bunch of different reasons.. to make them look intimidating in war when they grew up, to make them look more intelligent, or like the gods or other religious reasons, or even just to give them a shapely normal head (particularly if it got a little squashed during birth)

plus they can just get a bit of a flattened skull if they are lying in the same position all the time

because babies skulls are so soft, apparently it causes no damage or disability at all (unless they really screw it up - oh and the binding apparatus can cause headaches while in place... funny that) - i don't think the same can be said about the feet binding thing. still...

yeah , there would appear to be some cranium damage to the subject in the picture. :bonk:

Or perhaps its the humble beginnings of a new mutant race that will rise up and conquer Earth....

An interesting picture if perhaps a bit strange looking.

 well she did have an iron fall on her head when she was 3...

moral of the story: if you see a kid playing under an ironing board - remove them, or the iron, immediately or they will become the 'Star Child' & wreak havoc & destruction with their oddly shaped skulls :fear:
:icons0mething:

I vow that from this day forward to always be on the lookout for kids under ironing boards and to have them removed with utmost urgency.
